During these turbulent times and the uncertainty in the Middle East, it’s very important for consumers to maximize their heaters performance and reduce operation costs, in other words, burn less fuel. Below we have a few suggestions to get you started:
- Annual Heater Tune-Up – keep your burner running at peak efficiency. There is no better way to ensure that your heater is doing its part.
- Replacing an Old Heating System – with newer and higher efficiency systems, a homeowner can save anywhere from 10-50%, yes 50%, of their fuel consumption. We’ve seen it happen!
- Install a Beckett Heat Manager – This control device (for hot water systems only) regulates the burning patterns of your unit. Comes with a written guarantee to reduce your fuel consumption by 10%. Most users experience around 20%. There is more information on the bottom of this page.
- Install a Programmable Thermostat – This will prevent forgetting to turn down the thermostat setting while at work or for nighttime set back temperatures. This can save as much as 6-10% of your annual consumption.
- Zoning – If possible, least used sections of your home can be split off the system and placed on a separate thermostat, thus enabling you to reduce the call for heat in those areas. Add a Separate Hot Water Storage Tank – This will store your hot water hotter for longer, due to its high performance insulation, and will provide an abundance of hot water for pennies a day.
